Advance Basis

Advance Basis Terms of Service

Effective July 14, 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Advance Basis website, autonomous research service, reports, exports, public sharing features, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). In these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Greater Expanse LLC, a California limited liability company and the operator of the Service. Advance Basis is the product name of the Service, not a separate legal entity.

1. Accepting These Terms

You accept these Terms by clicking the acceptance control or using the Service after the Terms are presented to you. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You may close an existing account instead.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use the Service in connection with work for another person or entity, you represent that you are authorized to do so. Your account remains an individual account. We do not currently offer customer team, organization, seat, or role management.

2. The Service

The Service turns a research request and material you provide into a source-grounded research report. The Service may prepare a research plan, search for and retrieve sources, retain evidence passages, extract and verify claims, compress source material, synthesize a report, and generate exports.

The Service currently offers Full research and Scan launch modes. Scan is a narrower preliminary pass and is identified as such in its report. Both modes use the same baseline evidence and verification requirements, but may differ in breadth, source count, length, and completion time.

We do not guarantee that the Service will locate a particular source, reach a particular conclusion, complete within a particular time, or operate without interruption. The Service may stop a run when it cannot continue reliably. A Report is delivered when it becomes available in the Reports area of your account.

3. Accounts and Access

Accounts use an approved sign-in provider, currently Google or GitHub. You are responsible for securing your sign-in account, keeping account information accurate, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. You may not sell, transfer, lend, or share an account or impersonate another person.

We may admit customers by invitation or approved access request. Admission does not promise permanent access, service capacity, or continued availability of any preview feature.

4. Your Research Content

"Research Content" means prompts, questions, intake answers, research plans, files, notes, source suggestions, feedback, and other material you submit.

You retain your rights in Research Content. You grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, extract, transform, and otherwise process Research Content only as reasonably necessary to:

This permission includes transmitting relevant material to infrastructure, identity, payment, search, retrieval, and AI service providers used to perform the requested work.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your Research Content and direct us to process it. Do not submit another person's confidential, personal, copyrighted, or otherwise protected material unless you are authorized to do so.

5. Reports, Sources, and Your Decisions

"Report" means a report or research artifact delivered to your account, including a Scan, a Full research report, and its available exports.

To the extent permitted by law, you may use, copy, adapt, and publish your Report. This does not transfer rights in third-party sources, quotations, data, trademarks, or other protected material, or in the Service's software, methods, designs, prompts, and service technology.

Reports can contain errors, omissions, stale information, incorrect interpretations, or unsupported conclusions. Citation, quote provenance, and independent semantic verification reduce risk but do not eliminate it. You are responsible for checking sources, conclusions, and material facts before acting.

Reports and other outputs are research material. They are not legal, tax, investment, financial, accounting, medical, health, engineering, compliance, or other professional advice. They are not a substitute for a qualified professional, and you remain responsible for your decisions.

6. Prices, Reserves, and Credits

The Service uses prepaid service credits denominated in U.S. dollars ("Credits"). Prices, funding amounts, and the amount reserved for a run are displayed in the Service before purchase or launch. As of the effective date, a delivered Scan or Full research Report costs USD 5.00, available funding blocks are USD 25, USD 50, and USD 100, and launch reserves USD 5.00.

If a run delivers a Report, its reserve becomes the report charge. If a run is stopped, blocked, failed, or canceled without delivery, the full reserve is released automatically and no report charge is made.

Credits purchased with money are "Purchased Credits." Credits issued without payment, including invitation grants, promotional codes, testing funds, and service adjustments, are "Promotional Credits."

Credits are personal to your account, nontransferable, usable only for the Service, and do not earn interest. They are not a bank account, deposit, payment instrument, cryptocurrency, or general-purpose stored-value product. Purchased Credits do not expire while your account and the Service remain available. Promotional Credits may expire or carry limits only when those terms are disclosed when issued.

Stripe processes Credit purchases. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number. You authorize Stripe and us to process the amount selected and apply completed purchases, refunds, disputes, and reversals to your Credit balance.

7. Refunds, Cancellations, and Disputes

You may request a refund within 14 calendar days after a purchase, to the extent your account records show a remaining unused Purchased Credit balance. When an account contains both Purchased and Promotional Credits, Promotional Credits are treated as used first when we calculate the remaining refundable Purchased Credit balance. Credits reserved for active research are not refundable until the run finishes or is canceled and the reserve is released.

If you ask to close your account, we will also refund its remaining unused Purchased Credits before completing closure, even if the ordinary 14-day request window has passed. Closure refunds remain limited to amounts actually paid, not previously refunded, and not consumed by delivered Reports.

Promotional Credits have no cash value and are not refundable. Charges for a delivered Report are final except where required by law or when we determine that a charge was duplicated or applied incorrectly.

Request a refund or report a billing problem by emailing billing@advancebasis.com from the email associated with your account and including the relevant transaction details. Approved refunds return to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider controls when the refund appears.

If a payment is reversed, refunded, or charged back after Credits have been used, we may deduct the corresponding amount from the account balance. This can create a negative balance and suspend new research until the balance is resolved. Contact us before initiating a chargeback so we can investigate.

8. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

The Service is not designed to receive passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, biometric identifiers, protected health information, classified information, or similarly sensitive regulated data. Do not submit such data unless we expressly agree in writing to the required handling.

9. Public Sharing

Reports are private by default. If you create a public share link, anyone who obtains it may view the fixed Report version associated with it without signing in. You are responsible for confirming that you may disclose the Report.

Rotating or revoking a link prevents future access through that link. It cannot retrieve copies already downloaded, copied, indexed, quoted, or redistributed.

10. Deleting Research and Closing an Account

Deleting a Report permanently removes the report and its owned research record, including associated request material, retained source payloads, evidence, claims, verification results, exports, and public links. A source record shared with another research run is retained for that other run. Financial ledger entries remain, but their direct run reference is removed.

You may close your account from Account settings. Closure is blocked while a run is active, a reserve is held, a payment balance is negative, or unused Purchased Credits remain. Resolve those items first; billing support will refund the remaining unused Purchased Credits before closure. Download Reports you want to keep before closing the account.

Closing an eligible account permanently deletes user-owned Research Content, Reports, sign-in identities, sessions, and ordinary account profile data. Remaining Promotional Credits are forfeited. The live account email, display name, and sign-in subject are replaced with nonidentifying values. We retain payment-provider identifiers and related billing, payment, agreement, security, and legal records only as reasonably necessary for accounting, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, security, enforcement, and legal obligations. Closure cannot be undone.

11. Privacy and Security

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information. No system or transmission method is completely secure. Keep independent copies of Reports you need to retain.

12. Third-Party Services and Sources

The Service depends on third-party infrastructure, identity, payment, search, retrieval, AI processing, email, and public-web services. Those services may become unavailable, change their terms, or return incomplete or inaccurate information. We are not responsible for third-party websites, source content, or services outside our control.

Links and citations do not mean we endorse a source or that a source endorses us or the Service.

13. Service Technology and Feedback

We and our licensors retain all rights in the Service, including software, interfaces, branding, designs, workflows, prompts, evaluation methods, and documentation. No service-technology rights are granted except the limited right to use the Service under these Terms.

If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use them without restriction or payment. This does not permit us to identify you publicly as the source without permission.

14. Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a service-level commitment, or that a preview feature will remain available.

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address security risk, fraud, unlawful conduct, payment abuse, material breach, or harm to the Service or another person. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure.

If we discontinue the Service or terminate an account for reasons other than the customer's breach, fraud, unlawful conduct, or payment abuse, we will refund remaining unused Purchased Credits as required by this policy and applicable law.

15. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and Reports are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Greater Expanse LLC and its owners, affiliates, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Service or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, their total aggregate liability for claims arising from the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

17. General Terms

If a provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a financing, merger, reorganization, or sale of the Service.

These Terms and policies expressly incorporated into them are the agreement about the Service and replace prior discussions about the same subject. They do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

18. Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms prospectively. We will post the current version and effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes. A material revision may require renewed acceptance.
